Tea Time On The Devil's Verandah

As the last hours of 2005 reel off the clock and the year of the rooster comes to a close, I ponder upon odd questions that just trickle into my mind from nowhere... questions like, WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO THE GUY HARVEY FAD???

Once every corner of Jamaica was filled with people in t-shirts with marlins, dolpins and an assortment of fish on their shirts all courtesy of a caucasian I am sure (cause if it was a black man so many Jamaicans wouldn't wear it)... by the name of Guy Harvey...

you remember don't you???

So anyway... here is everybody's friendly neighbourhood Rastaman... trying to creep into the hearts and minds of the many... scheming on how to take over the world yet again with more diabolical plans... if you have any good plan for taking over the world as well please submit them to cyber_yan@yahoo.com

You are also probably wondering about the title of this post... oh well it is another abstract title I have had milling around in my head. I plan to use it for one of my upcoming books.

I don't know what happened to the fad, but Guy Harvey (who is a Jamaican, though he is a bit lighter in skin colour than you are) now lives with his family here in Cayman. His stuff is still selling well, though maybe not at home... Check out his biography here.

I belive his ass got over run by the heavy influx of Tommy Hillfiger Clothing that year. Whether it be bandooloo Tommy or authentic, peeps where more interested in preppy mature shit ( I know I was) rather than a fricking rasta cap wearing marlin!
Holla!

HAHAHAHa rasta cap wearing marlins, thaz funny... aaaah yah i know Guy Harvey was was Jamaican, just not part of the 90% of the many one people. and like i say at the time people wouldn't have supportr a black brand... he had to be "lighter" as you put it. However the times are a changing Cooyah now runs the world... ironically i find the more popular they get the less apealling their designs look. but oh well. and for the record Guy Harvey being caucasian wasn't an indictment on his character... just that of the Jamaican masses.
